GEDCO NEWS

Mergenthaler Holds Another Wonderful Service Day!

© GEDCO

Students from Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical Senior High School treated the residents of Stadium Place to a wonderful picnic on Saturday, June 20. The students brought delicious food and beverages which they paid for through student’s fundraising activities.

The picnic was Mergenthaler’s last service activity of the school year. Since the school “adopted” Stadium Place in 2004, Mergenthaler students have held many service activities at Stadium Place, including a game of bingo, an ice cream social, and a “Senior Prom.”

The residents and staff at GEDCO thank Mergenthaler for another excellent service day!

Thanks to all who stopped by our tent last Friday at Belvedere Square’s Summer Sounds at the Square event! The event was truly wonderful and we thank you for spending your Friday evening with us.

An extra thank you to Donegal X-Press, Gloria Garrett, and all who donated food to CARES, our food pantry and financial assistance center!

Silent Auction and Concert on the Green a Success!

Second Presbyterian Church’s Silent Auction and Concert on the Green was a huge success, raising $6,000 for CARES and GEDCO.

Despite very hot weather, many people attended the church’s annual event and bid on items such as gift certificates from local businesses, jewelry, and sports memorabilia, while the Joel Holmes Trio entertained guests in the church’s Sanctuary.

Many thanks to all who came out and showed their support for Second Presbyterian Church and GEDCO!
