2020 Holiday Cheer Campaign

SPREAD SOME HOLIDAY CHEER!

Four of GEDCO’s six permanent housing programs offer effective, comprehensive, supportive services geared specifically towards men and women who were formerly homeless. GEDCO staff members also provide program residents with linkages to other community resources, all aimed at helping each individual accomplish personal life goals and achieve the greatest level of self-sufficiency possible. Men and women who have come to us from shelters and the streets begin with the basics, including health stabilization, maintaining sobriety if that was an issue, and fulfilling housing responsibilities. Then, individuals progress forward in pursuit of major life achievements, such as saving enough money to buy a car, moving into more independent housing, obtaining a GED or college degree, gaining employment, and/or giving back through regular volunteerism.

GEDCO strives to not only provide housing, but to create homes. To this end, staff and residents cultivate a family atmosphere in which programs foster a sense of community through regular house meetings, interactive games and outings, and various seminars and events with outside volunteer groups.

Every year, our Homeless and Supportive Services residents especially look forward to the holidays, as our organization strives to provide presents and communal meals that embrace this community spirit that GEDCO embodies. Help us reach our $5,000 goal and brighten our residents’ holiday spirits this year!
