In addition to completing our own development projects, GEDCO’s Real Estate Development team also acts as a consultant for other local nonprofit organizations. These organizations draw upon GEDCO’s expertise and history of success as they lead their own initiatives within the community. The benefits of these services are two-fold, thus allowing our organization to generate another source of revenue, while simultaneously broadening our impact within the greater Baltimore community.
Currently, GEDCO is working alongside another nonprofit service provider, Marian House, to redevelop a church parish house in order to provide supportive housing for women who are homeless. Marian House primarily focuses on helping women who are battling chemical addictions and/or mental illnesses, as well as those who are re-entering the community from prison, many of whom lack a standard high school diploma.
