GEDCO has the following resolutions for next year and would welcome any assistance you can lend whether making a donation or volunteering your valuable time.
- Assist 230 with their job search and find jobs for 175 people find jobs through CARES Career Connection
- Provide 4,500 people with food. CARES expect an increase in food demand due to reduced eligibility for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
- Help at least 250 households with gas and electric turn-off notices.
- Assist 50 people with their water bills.
- Provide at least 150 families with eviction prevention assistance.
- Assist at least 90 Older Adults with prescription assistance.
- Recruit volunteers to help older adults with Smart Phone, Computers, etc. at Stadium Place as well as the Senior Network of North Baltimore.
- Continue and build on our Mental Health Program for Homeless Services and Senior Services. Fund Mental Health Counselor and Addictions Counselor.
- Raise at least $75,000 for our Push Back Against Poverty Campaign (includes $50,000 in Community Investment Tax credit donations.)
- Upgrade GEDCO website and donor system.
- Assist at least 100 people to register for the 2020 Census to ensure the areas we serve receive government funding.
- Provide additional funding for education and exercise programs for Senior Network of North Baltimore.
- Break ground for Gilchrist Center Baltimore at Stadium Place
- Complete the building of the Village Center with a restaurant and 75 new apartments for older adults and Stadium Place.
- Make improvements to Harford House and Epiphany House.
- Increase GEDCO Capacity and operations support, including providing additional support (headcount) for CARES, Real Estate Development and Resource Development.
- Increase our pool of volunteers, especially companies.
