Unless explicitly stated otherwise, contributions made to GEDCO will be deposited into the organization’s unrestricted, operating account. If you would like to make your check contribution to a specific GEDCO program, please indicate this desire in the check’s memo line and/or via the accompanying documentation.

Donor Advised Funds (DAF)
Many donors choose to contribute to charities of their choice via third-party 501(c)(3) donor-advised funds. If you would like to allocate (a) contribution(s) to GEDCO via a donor-advised fund, your professional advisor may need the following information :

In-Kind Donations

Gedco CARES also accepts in-kind donations of almost any type, anywhere from food and medicine to feminine products and diapers. Don't know what to donate? Below is a list of things that the GEDCO CARES pantry is always in need of:

 

  • Non-perishable food (canned, bagged, or frozen food)
  • Household items (cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies, etc.)
  • General living items (Soaps, feminine products, clothing, etc.)
  • Season-related items (school supplies during summer, thanksgiving food during fall, children's gifts during winter, etc.)
  • Anything you're willing to give!

Stock

Did you know that you can also donate to GEDCO through stock? Simply transfer ownership of shares to your charity of choice-that’s us! You can claim the worth of the stock donation as a deduction on your taxes and do not have to pay any capital gains tax. You receive the full deduction for a charitable contribution, and it is not partially offset by your capital gains tax bill. This can be a great way to strategize at the end of the year if you have some appreciated shares that you want to redeem, whether you are looking for cash or are trying to re-balance your portfolio.
