Ways to Give

GEDCO’s work to fight poverty, create affordable housing, distribute emergency financial assistance and provide nutritious food is made possible by the generous gifts of our donors and grant-makers. We strive to show you the full impact of your donations on the lives of Baltimore’s low-income and once homeless residents.

What does GEDCO use donations for?

Direct Costs

While nearly 85% of GEDCO’s revenue goes directly to our programs, services, and houses, you may choose to give specifically to one of our programs. If you would like to give directly, please contact Melodie Cunningham at 410-433-2442 ext. 15 or by e-mailing mcunningham@gedco.org.

Indirect Costs

Even though we keep our office and administrative costs as low as 15% of our total revenue, we consider these costs to be giving to the cause as well. That means that our staff is committed to GEDCO’s mission, and their service often takes a direct form as they work first hand to coordinate volunteers, raise funds for new projects, to ensure quality of care, and oversee properties and programs.

For a copy of our most recent audited financial statements, please contact Melodie Cunningham at mcunningham@gedco.org.
