Homeless and Supportive Services
Rebuilding Lives With Housing
Chronic homelessness and a lack of affordable housing are prevalent in many cities throughout the United States. When a person is being stretched to their economic limits, it’s very easy to be pushed over the edge, whereas someone with a moderate income might recover. Substance abuse, mental illness, death, illness in the family, and job loss are just a few “pushes.” Temporary shelters are certainly necessary, but they cannot counter the effects of homelessness and help an individual get on the road to wellness and stability. At GEDCO, we seek to empower men and women who were previously homeless by providing permanent housing. Each and every man and woman deserves a place to call his or her own.
